The processes that it performs are homogenization, particle reduction, dispersion, and emulsification. Vacuum emulsifying mixers work efficiently where a tank is too large for convenient installation of a industrial vacuum mixer, or where headroom is severely limited. Vacuum emulsifying machines are less expensive than hear shear mixers in large tank installations because the long shafts required by extremely tall tanks are eliminated.
In the case of very large tanks, several smaller high shear mixers may be more efficient and economical than a single, larger unit.
A vacuum emulsifying machine disperses an ingredient into the main ingredient or continuous phase, with which it is normally not mixable. The mixers rotor, together with a vital stationary part called a stator, works hand in hand to mix the solution placed inside the tank. The solution may also be made to pass through a pipe in order to create a shear.
